Short-Term, Respite Care and Convalescence
George Brooker House offers short-term, respite care and convalescent services to clients with or without dementia. Our guests enjoy the privacy of their own bedroom, combined with the companionship of others and 24-hour support from the dedicated care team. Home-cooked nutritious meals are enjoyed together daily, along with a variety of entertainment and interesting activities. For the convenience of all residents, we have organised a number of regular services at the home. These include hairdressing, manicures, chiropody, dentist, mobile library and worship.

Caring for a loved one can be very rewarding but sometimes it is necessary to take a break. Our respite care services provide peace of mind that relatives are being well looked after while carers take a much needed rest to recharge. We are a people centred care home where all residents are cared for with dignity and respect. Friends and family can rest assured that our team are professionally qualified and provide the highest standards of care. Protection of vulnerable adults is a priority and we view it as part of our duty of care.
Convalescent Services
Although a patient may have been discharged from hospital, they are often not mobile enough to look after themselves in their own home. Our professional team can offer specialist care, and support a return to independent living. Our convalescent care programmes focus on a return to good health. Through a combination of good rest, gentle exercise and a nutritious diet, the body is able to recuperate. A well-managed recovery reduces the risk of complications and the possibility of a return to hospital for further treatment.
