We provide a safe, homely environment where residents feel part of a family, and are happy to call George Brooker House their own home. We support freedom of choice and independence and treat each individual with dignity and respect. We are a not-for-profit entity. Our rates reflect our charitable status. 

Mission Statement

Helping others to live well in later life is our mission. Our staff are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents. We are committed to the principles of a holistic, person-centred approach to aged care. Staff uphold the principle that a fulfilling life is one that nourishes an individual's physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. We reinvest all of our income into the home to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the benefit of our residents. We maintain a commitment to continuously improving our services in order to establish a facility that is responsive to the needs of our residents while supporting their individuality and independence.

Our Approach

We are committed to a person-centred approach where care relates to building a relationship not simply completing a task. We appreciate that everyone has his or her own personality, life history, experiences and lifestyle. We offer a six-week trial period to each new resident to give them and their families the opportunity to experience the house first hand before making a commitment. This provides an excellent opportunity for staff to get to know the individual resident and their family. It is a time when their care requirements are assessed and discussed.

From the beginning, our team focuses on the person, learning all about them. We develop a personalised care plan for each new resident in collaboration with the individual and his or her family, which we regularly reassess. The plan considers individual likes and dislikes, special dietary requirements, medication and social interests. We assign a key worker to each resident. They deliver one-on-one care and develop a genuine relationship with each resident. This unique way of working ensures that we deliver the best possible levels of care.
