Stitches, Smiles and Social Time at Our Sewing & Knitting Club

Our residents recently enjoyed spending time together at our Sewing and Knitting Club, a popular activity that combines creativity, social interaction, and gentle exercise. Knitting and sewing are fantastic ways to keep fingers and hands moving, helping to maintain dexterity while also stimulating the mind. Most importantly, it gives everyone the opportunity to relax, share stories, and enjoy each other's company while doing something they love.

Lesley was delighted to share some of the knitting tips and tricks she has picked up over the years. Here she is teaching fellow residents how to "cast on", helping others learn a new skill and build their confidence.

For some residents, arthritis can make knitting and sewing more challenging. Joan was pleased to discover adaptive tools that made the activity easier and more comfortable, allowing her to join in alongside her friends and continue enjoying a much-loved hobby.

Our lovely Tom was simply happy to be part of the group. He kept busy wrapping the wool around his hands and tidying it neatly back into a ball, making an important contribution while enjoying the social atmosphere and conversation around him.
