Summer Fete
On 18 July, we held our annual Summer Fete, and what a wonderful afternoon it was! We raised around £600 for our residents' fund.
What was truly incredible was the amount of support we received from friends, family, and the wider community. The atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic. If we could have bottled the feeling, it would have been pure magic.
We had something for everyone, including stocks, a bouncy castle, a tombola, raffle, bric-a-brac stall, and a food stall. As you can see from the photos, one of our senior staff members got absolutely soaked in the stocks, but judging by her smile, we think she thoroughly enjoyed it!
Our Pick-a-Stick game was originally designed for children, but it proved just as popular with the adults. The challenge was to pick a stick with a red tip to win a bag of sweets. It certainly brought back memories of the famous Haribo advert!
We were also delighted to have music provided by DJ Lee, kindly donated by the husband of one of our staff members. The fantastic music created a great atmosphere and even attracted people passing by.
It really was a lovely day, made possible by the generosity and support of so many people. As we were packing up at the end of the event, a gentleman very kindly donated £50. To whoever you are, thank you so much for your generosity.
